Deleting your account

You can delete your Viridion account yourself, at any time. It happens at once and cannot be undone. Below is how, and exactly what goes and what stays.

How to delete it

  • In the Haven app, open Profile and tap Delete my account.
  • On the website, sign in, open Settings in your dashboard, and use Delete my account at the bottom.
  • Both do the same thing. You have to be signed in, so we know the account is yours.
  • Staff accounts, and accounts holding a Koudmen role that someone issued to you, are closed by whoever runs them. Ask them, or write to us.
Open Settings

What is deleted

  • Your account, and the way you signed in, including any link to Google, Facebook or Apple.
  • Your profile: name, email, phone, and any health or mobility answers you saved.
  • Your entry on our member list.
  • Your home location in Haven, your family circle memberships, and the people you blocked.
  • A priority-needs entry you added in Haven for your own phone number. That entry comes off the storm call list.
  • Sprout child profiles and everything recorded for them.
  • Reminders, two-step sign-in codes and dashboard settings.
  • On the website, the account details saved in your browser.

What is kept, without your name

  • Road and incident reports you filed. Responders acted on them, so each one stays with your account taken off. What you wrote stays with it, along with the location and any photo link. A confirmed report stays on the public map.
  • Abuse reports you filed, with your account taken off. What you wrote stays so the report can still be handled.
  • SOS cases you sent, as part of the emergency record. Your account comes off at once and the location stays. On a closed case your name, phone number and note are removed too. The note carries the needs you set in Haven. On a case that is still open, responders keep all three so they can reach you. Write to us once it closes and we will remove them.
  • A family circle you own passes to another member who has an account. If nobody else is in it, it is deleted.
  • If you ever held a Koudmen role, the log of who granted it keeps your name. It is the audit trail for who could act in an emergency.
  • Your phone keeps getting public emergency alerts, because the device record carries no name. To stop them, turn off notifications or uninstall Haven.
  • Haven keeps some things on your phone, such as your home location, the needs you set and reports waiting to send. They stay there until you uninstall the app.

What we remove by hand

  • Contact form messages, Impact Check answers and testimonials were never tied to an account, so deleting it does not reach them. Write to delonpierre@viridion.tech and we will remove them, including the copy in our inbox. A published story stays up until we do.
  • An SOS sent without signing in was never tied to an account either. Tell us the phone number it came from and we will remove the name and number on it.
  • A priority-needs entry that a coordinator made for you, or that is under a different phone number, stays on the storm call list until you ask us to remove it.

Google, Facebook and Apple

  • Deleting your Viridion account does not change your account with them. To remove Viridion on their side too, find the list of connected apps in their settings and remove it there.
