Consent and Choices
Consent for a child's data is given by a guardian. It has to be informed and specific, and you can withdraw it.
- Guardian consent is the lawful basis for involving a child.
- The analysis step, which chooses the teaching method, runs only after a guardian signs the consent we email, never before. It is not a diagnosis, and it is meant for learners who already have a formal diagnosis.
- Without a formal diagnosis, Sprout runs in support mode. It can still help a learner who shows the same traits, but full support needs a diagnosis, and we will point you to a professional.
- Each permission is its own choice: the analysis step, sending anything to an AI service, using the microphone, and letting anonymised data go into research.
- No AI feature runs until you allow AI processing, and the analysis step waits for the signed consent to be on file.
- You can change or withdraw any choice at any time in the app.
